These boots have no construction defects.

However, they were made with different colors leather and coated with black after assembly. Our coating supplier delivered a defective product that will flake off as it does not adhere to the base leather as it should.

With wear, the black will eventually "flake" off and (to preserve appearance) needs to be sprayed with a black spray which is readily found at shoe shops (Meltonian brand) or at auto supply shops as a vinyl spray. Once the defective falls off, these new coatings will stick to clean leather.
