Tips, Tricks and Boot Care
Getting a tall boot on-
Turn the shaft of the boot inside out. Then, point your toes to work your foot as far into the foot as possible. Pull up on the back for the shaft until your foot is securely in the foot of the boot. Pull the shaft right side out, all the way up the leg. Once up, turn down to expose the amount of the cuff of the boot you wish to appear.
If trouble is encountered getting into the foot of the boot, putting a thin plastic shopping bag over the foot and then putting your foot into and out of the boot for a few times will stretch the top of the boot somewhat, enabling easier “getting on” in the future.

Cleaning your boots-
Renboots recommends wiping with a brush or damp cloth to remove residue. Stains can be removed with leather cleaner such as saddle soap.

Polish your boots-
Use any commercially available polish of similar color to keep the original luster and to cover up the inevitable scuff marks.

Conditioning the leather-
We recommend using mink oil to keep the leather soft and supple, as well as providing waterproofing.

Soles-
We glue our soles onto the boots and all boots EXCEPT our costume boots can be easily resoled by a shoe repair shop of your choice should this become necessary. Do not take your boot off by prying the toe of one foot downwards on the heel of the other boot, as this can cause distress to the glue holding the soles securely on. Use either your hand on the back of the heel or (preferably) a boot jack to take your boots off.

Storage-
Store your leather items in a DRY place at all times. Never put away when wet. If they get wet, always allow to thoroughly air dry, then apply mink oil to condition prior to storage.
